Public university students that are due for their one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme in the next batch, which is Batch ‘C’ may be unable to go for their Youth service. A reliable source from the NYSC yesterday disclosed that their counterparts in private institutions have started receiving call-up letters for the 2013 Batch ‘C’ orientation exercise since the scheme cannot postpone its exercise over the ASUU, Federal Government impasse. Though information is still sketchy, according to him, the mere fact that public institutions have been shut down for three months is enough fact for prospective candidates to know they won’t be enrolled for service, as all clearance needed for their call-up letters were not carried out. While many were worried that the future of education in the country is in jeopardy, others frowned at its negative implications, a member of staff who wouldn’t want his name mentioned disclosed to The Guardian.
Meanwhile, the NYSC Director-General, Brig-Gen. Nnamdi Okore-Affia, has flagged off a two-day national summit on de-briefing/planning of NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, themed “Repositioning the NYSC SAED Programme to Enhance Service Delivery” at the Lagos State NYSC Secretariat.
Mr man, stop propagating fake news. Who told u callup letters have been issued to institutions? Don't u have the NYSC timetable? Well, callup numbers are out in schools so why didn't the strike affect it? Rumour monger
ReplyDelete@chijoke thanks, the news is completely fake. Asuu strike has nothing to do with the mobilisation of batch c. If you dont know what to say, shut your mouth.
